EverydayProtect — Costs & Cover

EverydayProtect is a personal accident and hospitalisation policy underwritten by MetLife. If you suffer a covered injury, are admitted to a UK hospital, or are diagnosed with one of the conditions in your plan, EverydayProtect pays you a cash lump sum — useful for replacing income, covering household bills, or simply helping you recover without financial stress.

The policy is sold in units: you choose between 1 and 5 units. The more units you buy, the higher your monthly premium and the higher every benefit pays out. This page reproduces the official MetLife Summary of Benefits in full — every cost, every covered event, at every unit level.

Monthly cost

Core Cover is required. Child Cover and Active Lifestyle Cover are optional add-ons that you can add on top.

Pricing and benefits shown reflect the EverydayProtect refresh effective 19 June 2026.

  • In each policy year, Active Lifestyle Cover can pay a benefit for: one dislocation, and one tendon rupture or grade 3 / grade 2 ligament tear.
  • Dislocations: only dislocations resulting in surgical intervention or manipulation in a hospital setting are covered.
  • Ligament tears: if a benefit has already been paid for a partial (grade 2) ligament tear, the benefit for a subsequent complete (grade 3) ligament tear in the same policy year will be paid at the partial (grade 2) rate.
  • Active Lifestyle benefit amounts are reduced by 50% from the policyholder’s 70th birthday.
  • If your policy with Active Lifestyle Cover is cancelled or terminated for any reason and you then buy a new policy, you will not be covered for the Active Lifestyle Cover benefit on the new policy for 12 months from the date the original policy was cancelled.
